Everyone in Scotland should have a settled home. But we know that the COVID pandemic has meant a longer stay in temporary accommodation for some people and families.
The winter warmer payment of £50 is an offer from Scottish Government to households who are in temporary homeless accommodation. The one-off payment Please don’t delay – this is a limited fund that will be shared first-come, first-served.
The only qualifying condition is a current temporary accommodation address – this includes emergency and supported accommodation. The payment will normally be a cash transfer direct to a bank account. If preferred a shopping voucher which can be spent at local supermarket retailers can be posted to you.
Homeless Network Scotland is helping to make sure this money reaches people as quickly as possible. If you want to apply for your household, or if you are a keyworker that wants to nominate someone you support, you can apply online below.
Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee a cash payment. Applications will open on 20 January 2021 and close after the first 1000 applications have been received. Successful applicants will be informed by email week beginning 1 February 2021. We aim to make all payments by Friday 19 February 2021
